How does it work?
Facial Reflexology has all the benefits and principles of traditional Foot Reflexology. It is deeply relaxing with immediate effects due to the close proximity to the brain and central nervous system. Once the reflex points are activated a direct response occurs in the corresponding area of the body, this helps the body’s healing process, improving circulation and nerve supply as well as the release of toxins. Treatments also stimulate collagen and elastin which gives the effect of tighter, plumper more radiant skin.
The Bergman method
I was trained by Ziggie Bergman founder of ‘The Bergman Method’ Facial Reflexology. Developed over twenty years ago and based on William Fitzgerald’s theory of “Zone Therapy” this method uses Native American techniques along with Asian body mapping.
What to expect?
After a short consultation I will begin to cleanse the face with some gentle facial wipes, I will then apply pre-blended organic frankincense, rose or orange facial oil before beginning the treatment. The oils used enhance the experience of the treatment, as they come with added benefits such as the ability to nourish and revitalise the skin. Once the treatment begins I will use gentle pressure on different reflex points on the face, also using a range of massage and natural facelift techniques to smooth out wrinkles and rejuvenate the face. You should find this experience to be very relaxing and may even drop off to sleep!
I always use wonderfully nourishing , natural and organic pre-blended facial oils for treatments from Neal’s Yard Remedies. If you are interested in trying out the oils for yourself for their rejuvenating qualities please check out my Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic shop webpage, where you can browse through a whole range of their skincare and well-being products.
How will I feel After ?
Facial Reflexology combines all of the therapeutic benefits of a holistic therapy with a touch of beautifying luxury! Clients often feel an inner calm and a real sense of wellbeing at the end of a treatment, as well as a more youthful, glowing complexion.
Facial Reflexology achieves this by improving blood and lymph flow, releasing muscle tension and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. It is also very effective for alleviating winter ailments such as blocked sinuses, dry skin, headaches, lack of energy, dull complexion, and depression; as this therapy helps the body to work at its optimum level, boosting the immune system it can also help to fight off winter colds and flu.
